Conflict of interest policy
Proposed framework document. This policy must be reviewed and formally adopted by the association's governing bodies before it is considered official.

Definition
A conflict of interest arises when a person's private interest could influence decisions taken on behalf of the association.

Disclosure
Leadership members declare in writing any interest that could create a conflict.

Management
A person with a conflict does not take part in the discussion or vote on the decision concerned.

Transparency and accountability
Declarations and measures taken are recorded in the minutes.
